With peepery, my first thought is how do I know what I want to post for the day? What if something awesome happens now, but even cooler happens at 8pm tonight? I would want to save my post for the last possible moment to make sure I dont waste it.
We just got back from winter break. The second semester of JMU was about to start. I was laying in bed, scrolling down on my Twitter feed. My thumb dragged across my iPhone screen endlessly, passing by only a small handful of posts that I deemed were interesting. Slowly, I began to realize what I was doing. I was consciously aware in that moment. I snapped out of the “mental lock” that Twitter tends to have on people as it just grabs you in and your are then sucked into an infinite world of posts. And there was the flaw. Twitter is INFINTE. As you may know, we are finite beings living in a finite world. Being fully aware of this fact alone, I came to the conclusion that a finite social media network needed to be made.
The bolded words, “consciously aware,” above sparked the idea creation of Peepery. To define, being consciously aware means to align the principles, values and ideals to the current situation at hand. For myself, time is very valuable to me, and I’m sure this applies with everyone else. While I was on Twitter, I wasn’t seeing the most important stuff all the time which means I was WASTING my time. My behaviors did not align with my values and this needed to change so I took it upon myself to create a solution for myself, and everyone with the same problem.
